A BOMB disposal squad was called to a property this morning after a suspected hand grenade was found.
Police were called to an address in Keighley when the item was discovered though it later turned out to be a replica.
Residents neighbouring the house were evacuated, a cordon was put in place and part of the road closed as a precautionary measure.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Officers attended Arncliffe Place, Keighley, after what was believed to be a hand grenade was found in a property.
"We worked with EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), which checked the device was safe and it was confirmed as a replica.
"A cordon was put in place and part of the road was closed as a precaution."
Police added that residents had now been allowed back to their homes.
No information has been given into the circumstances surrounding the find.
