A FAMILY escaped their home without injury after a fire started in their kitchen.
At 7.34pm yesterday a fire crew from Shipley were called to a property in Oswalthorpe Avenue in Thornbury after reports of a kitchen fire.
Smoke alarms had alerted the family to the blaze, which is thought to have started due to faulty electrics, and they had left the house by the time crews arrived.
The fire had been partially tackled by one of the residents, who had thrown some wet clothes on the flames.
