A MAN appeared in court yesterday following an alleged knife attack.
Aron Barton, 27, of Bolton Road, appeared before Bradford Magistrates Court charged with malicious wounding, affray, two counts of possessing an offensive weapon and assault.
The offences related to an incident at the weekend where a man was seriously injured.
Police were called to reports of ongoing disorder in St John Street, Brighouse, at around 2pm on Sunday and found a male in his 30s had sustained a serious slash wound. He was later taken to hospital for treatment.
A short time later, officers conducted arrest inquiries in the Wyke and Brighouse areas in relation to the assault.
A 25-year-old man arrested has been released pending further enquiries.
Mr Barton did not enter a plea and was given conditional bail until his next appearance at Bradford Crown Court on September 12.
