PLANS to restore a Grade II listed building to its original condition once it is vacated has been approved by planners.
In October Natwest will vacate its Hustlergate branch and convert its Market Street building, currently used for business transactions, into its main city centre branch.
The bank had applied for planning permission to remove its signage from the Hustlergate building, and fill in the spaces left by removed ATM machines with specially approved stonework. They said this would make it easier to sell the building once it was vacated.
The plans have now been approved by Council planners.
Bradford Civic Society chairman Si Cunningham (pictured) has said there is “enormous potential” to turn the building into a civic amenity.
