FIRE crews were called to a chip pan fire in Manningham this morning.
Firefighters from Bradford fire station were called to the address in Walmer Villas, Manningham just before 1am.
A spokesman for the station said the fire was accidental and the property's resident, a man, suffered no injuries.
He said: "The man dozed off and the pan was left unattended and just burst into flames.
"The kitchen has been smoke damaged, and when we arrived the fire had burnt itself out, there was a lot of thick black smoke so we used a high powered fan to clear it out.
"Luckily the house was fitted with working smoke alarms which alerted the man to the fire, but this should stand as a reminder to people to not leave chip pans unattended."
