FIFTY Bradford Bulls supporters will be wearing a specially commissioned polo shirt to the Summer Bash, in Blackpool, this weekend, thanks to sponsorship from a Bradford pub.

Brian and Loretta Gee, who run The Monkey, in Great Horton, have helped sponsor the shirt alongside the Walkabout pub, in Blackpool.

"It has meant we have been able to sell the shirts to supporters at cost price and the money goes straight back into Bradford Bulls," said Bradford Bulls Supporters Group administrator, Ady Gill.

"This season we have sponsored three players - Ryan Leadbeater, Daniel Murray and Joe Lumb - so the fundraising we do directly helps the club.

"People wanted a shirt to wear to Blackpool because other clubs will have them," he said.

Kevin Brown, a member of the group who helped organise the shirt said: "It's a smart black polo with the sponsors' logos on as well as the supporters' group emblem and an embroidered patch saying Hull Kingston Rovers v Bradford Bulls Summer Bash 2017.

"We will wear it with pride."

Monkey landlady Mrs Gee added: "We were happy to help out with sponsorship for the supporters' group. A lot of fans come into the pub for a drink before a home game. They come in for some real ale before a real game."

The Bulls play on Saturday at Blackpool in a game that kicks off at 7pm.

Last year there was a record attendance of 15,912 at the rugby league Bank Holiday festival.
