DETECTIVES fear there could be other victims of two depraved men who sexually abused children, including working as a team to photograph the rape of an 11-year-old girl.

Andrew Bristow, 47, and Michael Peters, 71, were yesterday jailed for a total of more than 14 years after they caught after an investigation involving police forces around the country.

Bristow raped the child while Peters took the pictures, Bradford Crown Court was told yesterday.

The pair had groomed the girl with offers of money and cigarettes and told her she would get into trouble if she told anyone, prosecutor Simon Waley said.

Bristow, of Clifton Villas, Manningham, Bradford, who pleaded guilty to twice raping the girl and sexually touching a ten-year-old girl, was imprisoned for eight-and-a-half years.

Peters, of Athol Crescent, Ovenden, Halifax, admitted taking indecent photographs of the rapes and sexually touching a boy of 13 after police pieced together a shredded photograph of him and the boy naked together on a bed. He was jailed for six years.

Mr Waley said a police investigation into the men's activities led to an address in Halifax being searched on July 23, 2015, and indecent images and a bag of shredded paper seized.

Peters admitted to the police he had previously had a sexual interest in children but said he had destroyed the photos five years earlier.

The rape victim, now in her early 20s, said she met up with Bristow and Peters when she was a child and called at their home for cigarettes up to four times a week.

Peters then offered her money to remove her top and she was given £5. Bristow then sexually assaulted her in the bedroom and she was twice raped by him while Peters took photos.

Bristow abused the girl aged ten in 2006, texting her to ask to see her in her underwear and putting his hand down her shirt.

Michael Collins, barrister for Bristow, said his client had been sexually abused as a boy. He was depressed, with suicidal thoughts, and knew he faced a lengthy jail sentence.

Nicholas Clarke, for Peters, said he had been very honest with his probation officer, admitting living "in the shadows" as a predatory paedophile, between 1971 and 2005.

Judge Jonathan Rose told Bristow and Peters: "There is not a single right thinking, decent person who will not be filled with anything but utter revulsion."

He added: "You have descended to real depths of depravity."

After the case, Detective Inspector Allan Raw, of Calderdale District Police’s Safeguarding Department, said: This investigation has been carried out jointly with other forces from around the UK.

"There may still be victims in both the West Yorkshire and Surrey areas, who Peters and Bristow sexually abused, but who we have not identified. I would encourage those victims to speak to the police by contacting their local police force via the non-emergency telephone number 101. Their allegations will be treated sensitively and seriously.”
