TWO members of a joint Anglican-Methodist church are taking on a 22 mile sponsored walk challenge to raise money to develop their Victorian church building.
Anne Barraclough and Margaret Wadsworth, will mostly following the Dales Way from Kettlewell to Ilkley Church, via eight churches to raise funds for the Eldwick Church building project.
On their walk, the pair will visit St Mary’s Kettlewell, St Michael’s Church, Linton, St Wilfrid Church, Burnsall, Burnsall Methodist Chapel, Bolton Priory, Farfield, Friends Meeting House, St Peter’s Addingham and All Saint’s Church Ilkley.
Money will go towards the ‘Building for Growth’ project which aims to raise £150,000 to build a new hall complex, linked to the church increasing seating capacity to around 150. It will provide the church with a larger, more flexible worship area as well as a café and social area.
