DETECTIVES searching for missing Craig Alderson have issued new CCTV images and renewed their appeal to try and trace him.

Mr Alderson, aged 44, who is originally from the Queensbury area, has been missing for over a month and was last seen on Friday, January 20.

It is understood that he has not been in touch with any friends or family.

The CCTV images are from Chapel Street, in Queensbury, on January 20 at around 10.45pm. They show him holding a laser measuring device in his hand.

Officers in Calderdale have been conducting extensive inquiries to locate Mr Alderson, both in residential areas and open ground, working alongside local search and rescue teams and partners across both Bradford and Calderdale districts.

They have also been continually in touch with his family, friends and acquaintances.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Gibson, of Calderdale Police, said: "We hope that releasing these new images and video of Craig that they might jog someone's memory and members of the public can assist us in trying to trace him.

"It is extremely out of character for Craig to go missing and for him not to be in contact with his friends and family. We have been conducting extensive inquiries for the last month to locate him.

"I firmly believe that the answers to finding Craig lay within the Queensbury area, and once again to appeal to anyone who thinks they may have seen him, or anyone who has heard from him or knows where he is now to get in contact with the police.

"We are ever increasingly concerned for Craig's welfare and our investigation is ongoing as we continue to strongly urge anyone who has any information to come forward as soon as possible."

Councillor Paul Cromie (Independent, Queensbury) said he was concerned Mr Alderson had not been found yet.

“I know the police have been out in force and drafted officers in from other areas because I had five or six in my garden two weeks ago and another group a week later," he added.

"My house is behind the Victoria Hall and I have a large garden, about an acre with a large pond. They looked all around, though did not drag the pond, which is about four feet deep.

"I know they’ve looked all around Station Road because there’s a lot of land around there and they’ve been up and around the tunnel. Let’s hope they find him soon because time is going on.”

Any information about Mr Alderson's whereabouts should be passed to police by calling 101 and quoting 13170034270.
