THE Wilko store in Bradford has donated vouchers towards the Telegraph & Argus Toys & Tins Appeal.

The high street chain’s offer means representatives from the appeal’s chosen charity, Bradford Women’s Aid, can pop into the shop in Rawson Quarter and choose some toys.

A spokesman for the store said: “It is a family-run business and they believe that Christmas is the most important family time. So they like to give what they can.”

T&A editor Perry Austin-Clarke said: “Bradford Women’s Aid does a brilliant job of providing refuge for those who have suffered abuse and we hope the T&A’s Toys & Tins Appeal will help to bring at least a little comfort and joy into their lives.”

Bradford Women’s Aid helps vulnerable women and children who have become victims of domestic abuse. Our appeal is designed to bring some festive cheer to those people most in need.

We want unwrapped gifts for children, and tinned food with lengthy ‘best before’ dates. Donations can be left at our reception in Hall Ings, Monday to Friday (9.30am-3pm), up to December 16.
