A £41,000 project to upgrade the ageing metal gas distribution network in Bolton Road, Bradford, will start next month.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) is investing the cash to replace 50 metres of metal gas mains with plastic pipes.

The work will start on November 21 and is expected to run until December 5, with engineers working Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

Ian Cunningham, construction services area manager at NGN, said: "We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these works, and thank our customers for their patience and support in getting them completed as quickly as possible."

Bolton Lane will be closed at the junction of Kings Road during the works, meaning no right-hand turn onto Bolton Lane. The inside lanes on Kings Road will also be closed near to the junction of Bolton Lane.

Diversions will be in place.

Any bus stops within the works will be suspended and temporary stands provided.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the work.
