A FIVE-A-SIDE football tournament helping to promote World Mental Health Day will again take place in Bradford.

Sport 4 Health is an annual competition organised by the Making Space Wellbeing Adult Mental Health Service, based on Sunbridge Road, in conjunction with Equality for All C.I.C.

The Wellbeing service provides one-to-one support to adults to enable participation in mainstream activities throughout Bradford and Airedale.

The tournament, which will take place at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre on Thursday, October 13, from 11am, aims to raise awareness and challenge discrimination surrounding mental health, and improve physical and mental well-being through sport.

Leanne Wright, managing director of Equality For All C.I.C, said: "The service users that participate in the tournament all have personal experience of living with mental health conditions.

"Many have reported barriers to accessing mainstream provision including a lack of self-esteem, confidence, financial support, and the stigmatisation that surrounds mental health.

"The Sport 4 Health project acknowledges these barriers and sets out to address these issues."

Entry to the competition costs £5 per team.
