BRADFORD South’s Children’s Centres are holding a number of events to mark the start of the new "cluster," including a welcome event tomorrow.

The cluster formed last month, part of a shake up of children's centres that has seen groups of centres being run by a single committee.

Although many are being run by charities, the Bradford South cluster, containing seven clusters, will be run by Bradford Council.

The community welcome event on will be held at the Woodside Children's Centre on Fenwick Drive from 1.30pm to 3pm.

Information will be available for families on all the services, activities and groups that are available across the different centres in South.

There will also be information for parents about how they can get involved with activities including family support and volunteer opportunities.

A car seat safety event will be held on Friday 9 from 10am to 2pm at the ASDA car park in Towngate, Wyke.

Neil Christie, Early Years Operations Manager, said: “We want as many parents and families to come along to these events to meet the staff and find out what we’re doing. We would love to hear from people who want to help us as volunteers.”

Councillor Imran Khan, Executive for Education, Employment and Skills, said: “We want our children’s centre in South Bradford to meet the needs of local families. I’d encourage parents to come along to one of the welcome events and find out more about what services are on offer, and how they can get involved.”
