Detectives investigating a murder in Bradford have arrested a sixth man.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the 34-year-old was arrested in the Bradford area earlier today on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Yesterday two men, aged 28 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the death of Imran Khan, who died in a shooting incident in Round Street on Monday night.

The latest development brings the total number of arrests to six

A 30-year-old man, who was arrested, on Tuesday also remains in custody today.

Two other men, aged 21 and 22, have been released on bail after they were were arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, further tributes have been paid to Mr Khan, who was shot outside his home in Round Street, West Bowling, on Monday at about 8pm. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Mr Khan's widow is due to give birth to a girl next month, which would have been his first child.

Yesterday, family, friends and neighbours paid further tribute to Mr Khan, who was known as Kalay.

Sister Jawaria Khan, 25, said the family was still in shock.

"We have no idea why who shot him did it. It is a mystery to us," she said.

"Nothing prepared us for this, there was no reason for us to expect anything like this to happen to him or us.

“My brother worked hard. He had two jobs working at a warehouse then as a delivery driver. He was a good person, he loved his family.”

Flowers have been left in the alleyway where Mr Khan was shot near his home and forensic examiners were continuing their investigations yesterday. Detectives were also conducting door-to-door inquiries.

Mr Khan’s next door neighbour, who only wished to be referred to as Mrs Begum, described the killing as a nightmare.

“I have lived here since 1995 and have never known anything like this. Everyone is shocked.

“I heard three bangs and when I went outside there were lots of people and children around.

“Children including my teenage grandson and five-year-old granddaughter saw the man on the ground.

“It was very distressing and my granddaughter keeps asking what’s happened.

“I cannot sleep at night thinking about it. Children were playing in the street at the time.

“His [Mr Khan’s] wife is expecting a baby and fainted yesterday and had to be taken to hospital.

“I feel so sorry for her but everyone is trying to help.”

One of Mr Khan’s cousins, who lives in New Cross Street and did not wish to be named, said the family was upset because they had not been given his body.

"They cannot go ahead with the funeral and it’s distressing them. It’s adding to their stress. We cannot believe what has happened. It’s sad; it’s a life gone. He was so hard working and honest," he said, adding that Mr Khan worked for 3663 foods, in Swithenbank, delivering food to the Ministry of Defence.

A neighbour across the road added: “This is a good area; people who live here know that. When it happened people rallied round trying to help.

“Everyone is trying to help one-another.”
