AROUND 8,000 people are expected to visit the city centre when the University of Bradford hosts a UCAS exhibition.

The West and North Yorkshire UCAS Exhibition, one of the most important events for helping prospective students choose a university, will take place in the city centre campus on Wednesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 16.

Universities, higher education colleges, employers, gap year companies and other organisations from across the country will be highlighting a range of post-18 opportunities, with 200 exhibitors welcoming over 8,000 visitors over the two days.

There will be a Student Life Zone where visitors can chat to current students, begin a tour of the university campus and experience university life away from academic work, including student sports and societies. There will also be an outside festival food zone, interactive summer games area and music from University of Bradford’s radio station RamAir.

University of Bradford Director of External Affairs Mark Garratt said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this prestigious event and welcoming both visitors and exhibitors to our campus and city. It’s particularly appropriate that in our 50th anniversary year we should be celebrating yet another milestone by hosting the UCAS Exhibition for the first time. It’s a major boost both to the University and the rapidly developing city of Bradford.”
