A BRADFORD man has appeared in court accused of robbing a security guard of £14,500 during a cash-in-transit raid.
Basit Hussain, 20, is accused of confronting Shab Hussain, an employee of G4S, as he picked up the money from the Tesco Express Store in Manningham Lane, Bradford, on April 18.
He appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday via video link from Doncaster Prison to deny the robbery charge.
Armed officers were sent to the scene after reports the person involved was brandishing a weapon.
Hussain, of Sherwood Place, Undercliffe, Bradford, was arrested later that afternoon after police used a stinger to stop a black Jaguar (pictured) at the junction of Harewood Street and Webster Place in Barkerend.
He pleaded guilty yesterday to charges of dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.
Judge Colin Burn set the timetable for a trial, set to last for at least three days, due to start on August 22.
