A MAN from Bradford has been arrested on suspicion of stealing items from victims of flooding.
The 24-year-old, of Wibsey, has been released on bail while police carry out enquiries.
He was arrested alongside a 26-year-old man from Halifax after police were called to Burnley Road in Mytholmroyd at about 12.35pm yesterday.
A police spokesman said two men had been seen taking belongings from gardens and putting them into a van. The items, some believed to be electrical, had been left outside because of flood damage to homes.
A police spokesman said: "There were several comments on social media regarding the seriousness of this offence with a small minority viewing it as trivial matter.
"The flooding in Calderdale has had a major impact on thousands of people living within the area and is especially upsetting at Christmas. The impact of becoming a victim of a crime during this same period is morally reprehensible."
