THE first tenant has moved into a new housing development helping to transform a once run-down area of Bradford.

Twelve privately-rented two, three and four bedroom homes have been built by developer QSH as part of the second phase of a major redevelopment project to transform the Goitside area of the city.

Anthony Drummond, the first tenant at the Baptist Court development, said: "I am over-the-moon with my new home and very impressed with the contemporary design and lay-out.

"I’m looking forward to welcoming family and friends to it."

Although the homes are privately rented, social housing provider Incommunities will be managing the properties and lining up tenants.

Nicola Clayton, business development director at QSH, said: "To see Anthony move in is a great culmination of a partnership in action. We have worked alongside our partners Incommunities and Bradford Council to bring Baptist Court to fruition and deliver much needed new homes to Bradford."

Geraldine Howley, chief executive of Incommunities, said: "These homes will provide much needed city centre family housing and form an important piece of the regeneration of the historic Chain Street and Goitside quarter."
