A BRADFORD woman who fled from court before being sentenced for an attack on her former partner is yet to be arrested, according to police.

Sammi-Jo Bateman, 25, appears to have taken to social media to boast about evading arrest, with a Facebook profile in her name posting a link to a story published by the Telegraph & Argus yesterday next to three smiling faces and the words 'my bad'.

Bateman, of Woolcombers Way, Tyersal, left Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court before chairman of the bench Gamil Haddad could sentence her to four months in prison for assaulting Ryan Couborough by beating.

The incident occurred in the car park of Bowling Pool on July 20, with Bateman admitting to a "violent altercation" in which she repeatedly punched and kicked her victim.

After magistrates had retired to consider their verdict, security guards entered the courtroom, prompting Bateman to leave the court with friends who had been sat in the public gallery.

In the same Facebook thread, the person posting under the name 'Sammijo Bateman new' also said: "I jus panicked lol", and "Game on catch me if u can am the ginger bread man."

A warrant remains outstanding for Bateman's arrest.
