PLANS to change a storage and light industrial unit into snooker halls and games rooms have been submitted.

The application is for units four and five at Kyme Mills, Johnson Street, Laisterdyke, and the two-floored site would feature 21 snooker tables and two table football areas.

The application has been submitted to Bradford Council by Sajid Hussain.

Objections have already been posted on the Council's planning application website, from owners of nearby businesses including Jit Lal, unit B second floor Kyme Mill Johnson Street, who says the proposed site would cause increased traffic problems.

He also claims crime is already high at the site and the late hours of a snooker hall will cause an increase of crime.

Saleem Khan, of unit one, first floor, Kyme Mill Johnson Street, says the application does not allow for car parking issues as Scaley Road is a single track road, with no overflow parking is possible on this road.

He added: "The snooker hall will attract many customers and overflow parking will end up being in our loading bay or our car park which is already severely congested."
