A STREET in Queensbury was flooded with raw sewage, with one angry resident describing the scene as "absolutely disgusting".
Human faeces and tampons could be seen floating along Hazelhurst Road yesterday and Sunday, after a blockage caused the sewage to flow out of a road grid.
Denise North, who lives on the street, said: "It has been absolutely disgusting, seeing everyone else's faeces coming down the road.
"It has been lovely weather, but it stank and we could not have our windows open. It was also sprayed onto cars by other cars driving along."
Yorkshire Water workers were on scene yesterday afternoon investigating the blockage.
A spokesman for the company said yesterday: "We would like to apologise for the sewage flooding on Hazelhurst Road which was caused by a blocked sewer. We have technicians on-site investigating the issue and hope to have the sewer unblocked shortly and to commence a full clean up operation."
