OFFICERS in the Bradford District Anti-Social Behaviour Bike Team have seized an off-road bike from a 14-year-old boy after complaints it was causing a disturbance in the community.

Police received reports that the black bike was being ridden across Sedbergh Fields at Odsal, and speeding on roads in Low Moor.

The bike was located to a nearby address, where officers spoke to the boy in front of his parents and issued a section 59 warning for anti-social behaviour, to remain in force for a year.

Police Constable David Hitchcocks said: "All too often, we are coming across bikes and quads that have been bought for children as a present without any forethought as to where the vehicle will be used.

"Please think carefully before buying and using off-road vehicles, as unless it is legal to use on the road, you will have to find private land with the correct permission that does not cause any issues for people nearby."
