A BACKLOG in repairing street lights across the district should be cleared in six weeks, Bradford Council bosses have said.

People are being told to expect a five-week wait when reporting broken lights, after a repairs backlog grew over winter. As of last week, there were 1,050 faults outstanding, the authority has revealed. Councillor Val Slater, executive member for highways, said more staff were being taken on to deal with the problem.
