A LEADING Government minister from Ethiopia paid a visit to the University of Bradford.

Shiferaw Shigutie Wolassa, Minister of Education for the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, visited the campus to set up a partnership between the African country’s universities and the Bradford site.

The Minister met with Robert Parkin, pro-vice-chancellor (research and knowledge transfer), Professor Donna Lee, Dean of the faculty of social and international studies and Professor David Francis, head of peace studies.

The talks looked into a proposed partnership between the university and the Ethiopian Government.

It looked at the role the university will play in the introduction of peace education to the national curriculum, starting at primary school level. Scholarships were also discussed.
