POLICE seized a car after receiving reports that residents had seen someone swapping its license plates, potentially in preparation for a crime.
While out on patrol on Thursday, PC Oliver Bentley and PC Shaun Cannon, from the off-road motorcycle team, attended a report of a suspicious incident just off of Sticker Lane, involving a car changing number plates.
When they arrived and found the car, they quickly established that it was displaying a false set of number plates.
When they searched the vehicle, further sets of number plates were found.
PC Bentley said: “It was unclear why the plates were on the vehicle, but it was obvious the vehicle would have been used to commit crime in the area. Due to this it has been seized and will now be disposed of”.
