INVESTIGATIONS were continuing today into the cause of an explosion which temporarily trapped two people in a Bradford warehouse on Monday.
The two women, aged 19 and 35, were both staff at the Range manufacturing company in Parry Lane, where the two-storey building partially collapsed.
They were rescued by firefighters and treated for shock and minor injuries.
Early reports suggested a forklift truck may have exploded in the blast, which occurred at about 4.40pm, but police have now confirmed they are investigating a suspected gas leak.
A total of 40 people were led to safety from adjoining premises.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene yesterday to try to establish the cause of the incident and assess the structural stability of the building.
The blast is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
Joanna Robinson, managing director at engineering firm Mansfield Pollard, which is situated next to Range, said work was ongoing to clear the site with bulldozers yesterday.
The Telegraph & Argus was unable to contact anyone from Range for a comment yesterday.
