AN INQUEST has heard how police found a stabbed man collapsed outside flats in Keighley.

Edgaras Masliukskas, 23, was discovered lying on a hardstanding area near the flats in Chapel Lane and died at the scene.

Emergency services had gone to the street on October 26 after reports of a stabbing, said Detective Inspector Lloyd Battley.

Mr Masliukskas was pronounced dead a short time later at 4.30am. He had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Another man was also found stabbed and was taken to hospital with serious injuries but his condition improved, today's inquest was told.

Police had cordoned off the street while a murder investigation got underway.

DI Battley told assistant Bradford coroner Dr Dominic Bell that a man had been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder and had been in court.

Grzegorz Dzierzak, 34, of Chapel Lane, Keighley, has appeared before both Bradford & Keighley Magistrates and Bradford Crown Court and is on remand awaiting trial on April 14.

The inquest heard two post mortems had been carried out on Mr Masliukskas, whose body was now to be repatriated to his family in Poland.

Dr Bell adjourned the inquest for police investigations and court proceedings to conclude.
