A PUB company has started a fundraising campaign to help buy a holiday home for a Shipley-based charity.

Titan Pub Solutions, which runs The George pub in Idle and seven others in Yorkshire and Humberside, want to raise £40,000 through its Titan Holiday Home Challenge.

The money will go towards buying a holiday home in the north east of England for the Little Heroes Cancer Trust charity, which also has a static caravan in Newquay for families of children with cancer.

Craig Isaacs, managing director of Titan Pub Solutions, said: "Unite and Ignite, the national events company that raises funds for Little Heroes Cancer Trust and other charities, staged and managed a charity firewalking event at two of our pubs and my pub landlords could not stop singing their praises.

"We raised more than £4,000 in two nights and everyone involved had a great night out, so I went to see them to see how we as a company could help.

"I was amazed at what these guys do for the children and families affected by cancer, and I knew immediately that we wanted to do something special.

"They told me about their second caravan project and what costs are involved. Besides the purchase of the caravan, they buy toys and distractions, meals, and entertainment vouchers to make sure the holiday runs to perfection.

"I said Titan Pub Solutions will raise the funds through events at all of the eight pubs we operate to buy that dream holiday home.

"Besides charity firewalking events we will be running a whole range of events at each of our eight pubs in support of Little Heroes Cancer Trust as our charity of choice. We also call upon our regulars, local communities and any businesses that wish to get involved to support us to help Little Heroes Cancer Trust.

"The target of £40,000 is pretty heady, but I think we can smash it once every one hears what a great cause it is."

Colin Nesbitt, of Little Heroes, said: "The reality is every charity needs support. When people like Craig walk in your door and say 'how can we help?', you give them a challenge.

"I have lived through the awfulness of cancer with my grandson Reece and I know how families need support, and a free holiday is a lifeline.

"The success of the Titan Holiday Home Challenge will make a big difference to so many kids and their families. I thank them wholeheartedly for their endeavours and I hope that everyone comes out to support them to support us."
