THE writer of a David Hockney biography will present a talk on the Bradford-born artist on Sunday at the Cartwright Hall Hockney exhibition.

Christopher Simon Sykes, author of Hockney: The Biography Volume 2, will give a free talk at the hall art gallery, in Lister Park, at 2pm.

Picking up the story of Hockney (pictured) in 1975, this volume finds him flitting between Notting Hill and California, where he took inspiration for the swimming pool series of painting; creating the acclaimed set designs for operas around the world; and embracing emerging technologies.

To book a place for Mr Sykes’ talk, call 01274 431212. The exhibition, showcasing Bradford’s unique collection of early Hockney works, runs until February 22.
