ONE company offering eco-friendly home improvements could win the official endorsement of councils across Leeds City Region.
The councils would recommend this firm to anyone wanting to carry out eco-friendly measures such as insulating properties under the Government’s Green Deal or other eco-friendly home improvement schemes. In return, the company would have to meet certain performance targets.
Next week, Bradford Council’s executive will decide whether to opt in to this joint approach.
The contract has not yet been awarded to a firm, but a council report reveals only two companies had been interested in the contract, and one of these had pulled out.
If Bradford Council decides to opt in to the joint approach, it will be expected to contribute £90,000 towards the procurement process setting up the contract.
The matter will be discussed at a meeting of the council’s executive on Tuesday, November 4 at City Hall, Bradford.
