COLLEAGUES of a firefighter who lost a long battle with cancer have handed a £900 cheque to a hospice in his memory.
Chris Kenyon, who lived in Thackley and died last March aged 56, was the inspiration for a cricket tournament in Yeadon this summer which raised the money for Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds, where he received care.
Mr Kenyon had spent 25 years of his firefighting career based at Idle, followed by five years at Rawdon then six years working in community safety across the Bradford district.
