DETECTIVES investigating a death at a house party in Bradford have arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

The man was arrested in the city last night and today remained in custody for questioning about the fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old Slovakian man in Great Horton Road early on Thursday.

Police have also appealed for the male driver and female passenger of a passing dark-coloured minicab, which was flagged down by a witness, to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark McManus, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are particularly keen to speak to the male driver and female passenger of this taxi, which was travelling down Great Horton Road at about the same time as the incident.

"It was flagged down by a witness before it continued towards the city centre. Given the time at which it stopped it is possible the driver or passenger may have seen the suspect and we are very keen to speak to them as potentially significant witnesses.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who was in Great Horton Road between 3am and 3.30am on Thursday, as it is possible they may have seen something which could prove important to our inquiries."
