A WOMAN who cares for her terminally-ill husband has been acknowledged at a Pride of Marks & Spencer awards ceremony.
Pauline Appleton, who works at the Bradford store, won the Carers Award at the retailer’s annual Pride of M&S Plan A Awards.
She was recognised for her dedication to offering the best customer service to local customers while dealing with the pressures of caring for her husband at home. Despite facing extremely difficult times in her personal life, she had no unplanned absences from work and supports the rest of her team at M&S Bradford.
Pauline was one of about 400 M&S employees nominated for an award this year. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the ceremony in London last week but her friend and colleague Jenny Dunn collected her certificate and prize on her behalf to celebrate her achievements.
She said: “I really enjoy my job and it has been so touching to be recognised for all my hard work.”
