OPPORTUNITIES are on offer for children to try their hand at a new sport this half-term, with a range of sports camps being held at sports centres across Bradford.

Handball, trampolining and dodge ball are among the different sports on offer, as are the more familiar pursuits of football, basketball, tennis and athletics.

The B active Sport and Exercise (BASE) camps are all indoors and will be held at Richard Dunn Sports Centre and Nab Wood Sports Centre. They are aimed at children aged five to 13.

Councillor Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council’s executive member for environment and sport, said: “These BASE camps are a great way for children to try new things and make friends over the school holidays.”

A five-day camp at Nab Wood Sports Centre costs £54. Both Richard Dunn and Nab Wood sports centres are offering three-day camps for £32 or single day sessions for £13.
