A THIEF has been jailed for six weeks for stealing 13 pallets from a health product business in Bradford.
Alan Chestney, 40, of Swain House Road, also faced driving-related charges when he appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court.
The court heard that between 2.30pm and 2.40pm on January 23 this year, Chestney stole wooden pallets from Optima Consumer Health Ltd, in Brackenbank Road, Little Horton.
However, Chestney's Ford Transit van had been spotted entering the firm's premises by someone from a nearby business and the police were called.
As well as the theft charge, Chestney faced charges of driving while disqualified and driving without insurance, once on January 23 and again on May 6.
On the second occasion, a roads policing officer recognised Chestney, pulled him over and checked his name against the police database. He was found to be banned from the roads until 2018.
Magistrates also disqualified Chestney from driving for 60 months.
