A PREMIER League football star put his backing behind a charity football tournament in Keighley.
The 'Class on Grass' tournament was held at Marley Activities and Coaching Centre, Aireworth Road, and has so far raised £5,000. This will be handed to the families of the Gaza crisis.
Everton striker Arouna Kone contacted his friend and tournament organiser Sohail Rehman, who suggested the tournament should be held in the latter's home town.
The striker, who was unable to attend the tournament, will distribute the funds raised through his charity foundation.
A total of 16 teams in Keighley and as far afield as Manchester and Newcastle battled it out in the seven-a-side knockout tournament.
Mr Rehman, event organiser, said: "I am good friends with Arouna Kone and he wanted to help out.
"It was a brilliant tournament.
"All proceeds will go to the families of Gaza and the crisis there. Money raised will also go to get medical equipment for them.
