Talent scouts will again be out and about in the city centre on Saturday on the look-out for Bradford’s most photogenic faces.

During their previous visit to the city on April 5, 134 people were scouted for this year’s Bradford Modelsearch competition, so if you have what it takes to strut your stuff from ‘Kirkgate to Catwalk’, you might catch their eye.

Now in its 13th year, the contest is run in conjunction with the Telegraph & Argus, the Kirkgate Centre and DK Model Agency.

“We were thrilled with the turnout on our first scouting day,” said Catherine Riley, manager of the Kirkgate Centre.

“This is the first year we have had two scouting days so we are hoping that even more people come along this Saturday. We love seeing the diversity of contestants that this event attracts and don't think size or age should be a barrier to a successful career in modelling.”

Scouts will be around the Kirkgate Centre between 11am and 4pm looking for people with the desire to model.

If you miss the chance, you can still nominate yourself by submitting a photograph and entry form before the closing date of Sunday, April 27.

Forms are available from the Kirkgate Centre, or the Telegraph & Argus office on Hall Ings.

Successful contestants will be invited onto the catwalk for heats in the Kirkgate Centre on Sunday, May 4, with the most promising going through to the finals on Sunday, May 18.

The expert panel of judges, who will choose eight winners overall, will feature representatives from DK Model Agency, Modelsearch, previous winners, and retailers from the Kirkgate Centre.

The finalists will also be put to the public vote in the T&A Readers’ Choice category, with photographs published in a supplement on Friday, May 9.

The free competition is divided into four age categories: four to six, seven to 10, 11 to 15 and 16-plus.
