"Mad Friday" - live blog

  • Police in Yorkshire will be sharing details of incidents they are called to today to help people understand the variety and number of call-outs they receive on 'Mad Friday'.
  • The Friday before Christmas is traditionally one of the busiest days of the year for emergency services, with a spike in alcohol-related anti-social behaviour and violent crime.
  • Chief Inspector Jaene Booth, of West Yorkshire Police, said: "Our hope is by getting an insight into the situations that other people get themselves in to, this will help others think about their own behaviour."
