Police are searching for a man who allegedly lifted a woman shopper off her feet during a sexual assault in Bradford.

And investigating officers have released an image of the bearded man in a black turban who they wish to speak to regarding the incident.

The victim of the alleged assault is a woman in her 20s who was shopping in the Premier convenience store on Gain Lane, in the Thornbury area of the city.

Officers today put out details of the incident, which happened on Wednesday, July 10.

At 3.10pm, the woman was approached by the man, who was dressed in dark trousers and a smart white short-sleaved shirt.

She claims he touched her clothing as he walked past her and then followed her out of the shop into the street.

There, he attempted to speak to the victim before lifting her off the ground.

The woman was able to escape from the man’s grip.

A police spokesman said: “The woman managed to break free and the suspect left the scene in a silver vehicle.

“The man is described as Asian and of large build. He was wearing a turban, a white shirt and dark trousers.”
