Emergency services were called out to an accident on the M62 shortly before 7am today.
The incident involved two cars and a lorry near to Hartshead Moor Services on the eastbound carriageway.
A small fire broke out under a Peugeot 206 but quickly burned itself out. There were no reports of injuries.
Speed restrictions of 40mph were imposed but police did not need to close the motorway. The vehicles were quickly moved to the hard shoulder.
