Bradford Council buildings to go under the hammer

7:00am Tuesday 13th August 2013

A number of buildings in the district, including a derelict Bradford care home and a recently closed Council shop in Bingley, will go under the hammer at an auction next month.

The properties are being auctioned by Pugh property company in their September 5 auction at Elland Road stadium, Leeds.

One of the Bradford Council-owned lots included is 440a Killinghall Road in Bradford, which used to be a care home, but is now boarded up and fire damaged. The starting bid is £150,000.

Another is the former Council Shop, a bill payment centre in Main Street, Bingley, which shut in June as part of a wave of Council cost-cutting measures.

Other buildings at the auction include Cuckoos’ Nest Barn in Harden and an office building at 243 Manningham Lane.
