The call has gone out for Yorkshire’s outstanding Asian women to come forward and be part of a contest recognising their achievements.

The Asian Women of Achievement Awards showcase British Asian women across different industries.

With Bradford’s rich Asian heritage, organisers hope there are plenty of entries from the area.

One of the nominees last year was Sayyeda Kahn, shortlisted for her work in the development of equality and diversity policies in her role at HM Revenue and Customs. She is also a lay magistrate for the West Yorkshire bench and regional lead for the Association of Chief of Police Officers’ Shanaz Network.

The award’s patrons include Cherie Blair, Home Secretary Theresa May (pictured) and HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan of Jordan.

Nominations are open at awa.realbusiness.co.uk.
