Fire crews were called out to a packaging factory in Bradford early today after an oven fire spread into the roof space.
The fire, at the Francis Ward factory on Bowling Back Lane, started at around 2.30am, and was caused by a palette left in an industrial oven.
It spread into the roof, burning insulation and damaging the building’s extractor fan. There were around six people working in the factory at the time, and they evacuated the building once the fire alarm was activated.
Two fire crews and an aerial appliance from Bradford and one from Osdal attended to put out the fire, which affected five per cent of the building.
