Stairlifts employees sign up for 10K
7:08pm Friday 24th February 2012 in Keighley
More than 60 workers at Steeton-based Acorn Stairlifts have signed up to take part in the fifth annual Keighley Big K 10K.
The multi-terrain run and walk – taking place on Mother’s Day, March 18 – is in aid of Manorlands.
The Acorn team is entering as part of a new corporate challenge, which encourages businesses to get active while raising funds for the Oxenhope hospice. For a special rate of £40, each business can enter five people and receive various promotional opportunities.
Acorn staff were motivated to take part after they recently installed two stairlifts at the home of Sue Ryder patient Lucy Moore, who will be starting the event.
Company secretary Dave Belmont said: “We wanted to help transform other people’s lives – and have fun doing it. It’s great that walkers are encouraged to participate, as well as runners. We are especially delighted that Lucy will be starting it.”
To enter the event, visit bigk10k. org.uk or phone (01535) 640430.
