A singer from Silsden won the first round of a local talent contest modelled on a hit television show.
Ross Hanson was voted the best performer in the inaugural Silsden’s Got Talent event staged and hosted by the Cobbydale Social Club.
Club spokesman Julie Newton said: “We had eight performers and had great support from them, the judges and the audience.”
The first round took place last Friday. The event will continue at the club at 8pm each week until the final on Friday, April 6.
A winner will be chosen each week and the seven finalists will face a panel of judges in the Good Friday final. Competitors who fail to win one week can return on another Friday and try again.
The overall winner will perform at the Diamond Jubilee concert on the stage in Silsden Park in June.
