A former Keighley man is encouraging youngsters to seek out wildlife on their doorsteps.
Mick Manning’s latest children's book Nature Adventures highlights the animals and vegetation to be found close to home.
Mr Manning (pictured) has written and illustrated Nature Adventures with his wife and long-time collaborator Brita Grantstrom.
The pair have written and illustrated more than 60 books and won several major awards.
Mr Manning, whose dad was headteacher at Highfield School, Keighley, during the 1970s, regularly went on nature walks.
He said: “I’d walk with my dad to the top of Rivock Edge at Riddlesden when I was four. That became a weekend adventure.”
Nature Adventures, which costs £7.99 in paperback, is published by Frances Lincoln Limited in association with The Wildlife Trust.
