A 28-YEAR-OLD man suffered serious injuries after he was allegedly hit by a car and carried on its bonnet along a Keighley street.

The man, from Keighley, was involved in an incident with a silver Citroen C4 in Market Street, at around 8.05pm yesterday.

The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding and remains in custody today, a West Yorkshire Police spokesman said.

The victim suffered injuries to his face and both of his hands and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

"The 28-year-old man – who was driving an Audi – had got out of his car after an initial collision involving his vehicle and a Citroen," said a West Yorkshire Police spokesman.

"The Citroen then drove into him and carried him on the bonnet some distance down the street, before driving off."

Anyone with any further information on the incident is urged to call CID on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, quoting log number 1726 of January 5.
