DETECTIVES are investigating after an incident in Keighley town centre which left two women needing hospital treatment.

Police were called to a flat in North Street at about 6am on Saturday to reports three people – two women and a man – had been assaulted. Officers found two casualties nearby.

Both were taken to Airedale Hospital suffering from facial injuries.

One was discharged after treatment while the other was transferred to Bradford Royal Infirmary. Her injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The third alleged victim was also located by officers.

An area of Temple Row – close to North Street – was taped off by police.

Detective Sergeant Paul Oldham, of Bradford District CID, said: "We are continuing to investigate this incident and anyone who has information – or saw what took place – is asked to contact Bradford police on 101, referencing crime number 13170562686.

"Information can also be given anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."

A 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation and remained in custody on Saturday.
