A MAN whose body was found near a train track may have fallen from a bridge, an inquest opening has heard.
Daniel Paul Collins, 23, from Green Lane, Eastburn was found near the main approach to Bradford Interchange close to the Mill Lane signal box.
Assistant Bradford Coroner Oliver Longstaff heard Mr Collins, a single man, was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.40am on Sunday, October 8 by a paramedic .
Although a formal post mortem is yet to be received, his injuries were consistent with a fall from a bridge, the hearing was told.
It could also be possible he was struck by a train but there is no evidence of that so far, heard Mr Longstaff.
"He was found next to the railway line, not on the track," said coroner's officer Kate Booth.
Mr Collins was identified by his father Paul Collins.
British Transport Police are still investigating the incident and the inquest has now been adjourned for those inquiries to be completed.
Mr Longstaff has released Mr Collins' body so funeral arrangements can be made by his family.
