HERITAGE enthusiasts are on track for a fascinating weekend across the Bradford district.

The popular Heritage Open Days initiative, which runs across the country each year, got up a head of steam in Keighley yesterday when a locomotive museum threw open its doors.

Ingrow Loco, a museum and workshop at Ingrow’s historic railway station, has teamed up with other attractions in the Keighley area, namely East Riddlesden Hall and Cliffe Castle Museum, to promote the weekend of special activities for all the family. Keighley MP John Grogan was invited to sample some of the fun on offer at Ingrow Loco and, along with other visitors, was invited to travel around the three venues on a vintage bus.

The venues hope the new partnership will lead to other joint events in future.

Ingrow Loco is open Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm and will offer guided tours of areas of its workshop not normally open to the public.

Other heritage events this weekend include the chance to look inside two tunnels in Saltaire.
